Concept Development
"Fearbook 2023" was inspired by my childhood drawing diary. I chose to produce this work as my final thesis to visualize what I perceived as akin to graduation, expressing the idea that "Life is about overcoming fear and taking a new step." In the word "yearbook," the 'y' is changed to 'f' to symbolize at the end that I successfully overcame my fear with the help of everyone, not just myself, throughout the process.
Style
The style of the artwork is a sketch-like style that resembles a drawing made by a child. By expressing the fear that a young child may feel, the heavy atmosphere is depicted in a slightly lighthearted way. To give the impression that a child drew the artwork, I used my left hand to work on many parts (even though I am right-handed).
